Evaluations & development

Evaluate, compare, develop your athletes.

Reusable forms and lightning-fast entry right at courtside. CoolPlay turns it into a score out of 10, a radar chart per athlete and a comparison against the cohort — then you build your teams and run your tryouts from start to finish.

Build a form once, reuse it everywhere

A form is structured into sections and criteria, and you reuse it season after season. CoolPlay ships with a default form for your sport — you never have to write the first line.

  • Sections → criteria, with rating scales, numeric measurements or text
  • Editable weight per criterion: what really matters counts for more
  • One form per purpose: season, tryout, physical testing
  • Several evaluators on the same athlete, scores aggregated

Rate at courtside, without slowing down

An interface built for the tablet: big full-width buttons, keyboard shortcuts and continuous saving. You keep your eyes on the play, and the form tells you where you stand.

  • Progress bar "25/25 criteria rated", section by section
  • Keyboard shortcuts 1 to 4, N for N/A, arrows to switch athlete
  • Saves as you go — nothing to submit, nothing to lose
  • A free-text note per criterion, when the number isn't enough

The evaluation floor follows you on iPad and mobile

On tryout day, everything happens in the app. Every mark saves itself — even when the gym's network drops — and sheets stay editable at all times. Each evaluator picks their sections at the start, then moves at their own pace without stepping on anyone else's.

  • Every mark saves itself, even offline — nothing gets lost
  • Sheets stay editable at all times, right up to the decision
  • Each evaluator picks their sections at the start and tracks their progress: to do, in progress, completed
  • The live ranking aggregates marks from several evaluators

Averages recomputed on every drop · a full team refuses the drop.

Build your teams by drag and drop

One column per team, your candidates across from it, and you drag. Each team's average recomputes on every drop, capacities are enforced, and the category filter keeps you on one group at a time.

  • One column per team, averages recomputed on every drop
  • Capacities enforced: a full team says so before the drop
  • Filter by category — U12, Benjamines… — to settle one group at a time
  • Every athlete's and every team's sheet one tap away: a section-strengths radar, an overall score out of 10, the number of evaluators

A score out of 10, not just ticked boxes

Each criterion carries a weight based on how much it matters. CoolPlay turns that into a score per section and an overall score, then places the athlete against their cohort: above or below, and by how much.

  • Weighted score out of 10, with the cohort average alongside
  • Radar by section: the athlete solid, the cohort dashed
  • Percentile down to the criterion ("Top 17%"), not just overall
  • The gap to the cohort shown per section ("+1.4 vs coh.")

What your team is missing, in plain sight

Individual evaluations roll up to the team: a team score, a depth score, and above all the list of skills where nobody is strong. Fix it in recruiting or in training, not at the first game.

  • Team score and depth (the strength of the bench, not just the starter)
  • Coverage per skill, measured on the best pair of athletes
  • A named "gap" alert: the skill with no strong athlete is called out
  • The share of athletes evaluated is shown — you know if the picture is complete

Run your tryout camps without paper

An activity type dedicated to selection: candidates get a bib number, you check them in on arrival, the evaluation fills up during the camp and the decision is taken on the same row.

  • Bib numbers assigned and electronic check-in on arrival
  • Evaluation progress visible per candidate ("Eval. 70%")
  • One-tap decision: kept, callback, cut
  • Evaluators invited to the camp only, with no access to the rest of the club
  • Selected athletes receive a roster offer to accept and pay

Parents see progress, not the ranking

The report shared with the parent carries the overall score and the section-by-section detail, coach comments included. What it does not show: the percentile and the comparison to other athletes — that reading stays with the club.

  • Visible in the parent portal, no password and no app
  • Coach notes quoted as written, section by section
  • You choose which evaluations are shared: an unfinished form stays internal
  • When several coaches rated, the report shows the average
